Raid on North Korean Science Agency again
The raid again! The police raided six agencies, including Tokyo head office, November 26th, for exporting 60 packs of amino acid (IV fluid) over the amount limited by law (see picture below). They say it can be used for cultivation of viruses in order to produce biologic weaponry. This type of medicine smuggling is not the first time, but the police knew 8100 packs were already gone to North Korea in June. The reason for the raid supposedly it's a series of organized crimes all over Japan. The pic below is a capture of the moment, and the men apparently yelling at police are probably from the members from North Korea.
For those who are not very familiar with the activities of North Korea in Japan, I'll simply discuss the history. You know many Koreans are living in Japan, right? Many of them got away from Korean penninsula to Japan up until now. Japanese rule (1904 ~ 45), Korean war(1950), or Jeju massacre(1954) are the major era. After WWII, they built schools for children and taught them as they like, such as communism, Korean history, and worshipping Kim Il Song (Father of Kim Jong Il) of course in their language. Therefore, they have raised so many children in such a way that their character formation is completely far from that of Japanese. The number of those "zainichi" is now almost 600 thousands. If you wanna know how many schools they have built, just do the math. Of those taking an oath of loyalty for Kim Il Song, some have operated in secret like abductions as you may know. The agency, North Korea Science Agency became widely known very recently as an industry spy group infilterating Japan's various organizations and companies.
Well, now that I'm mature, this incident won't make me furious any more. I'm just calmly watching this. As a matter of fact, the raid on North Korean Science Agency is not the first time recently; see this article one year ago when the suspect was conducting illegal sales of medecine online. This raid later revealed the agency obtained military secret on SAM(Surface-to-air missile), besides just a illegal medecine sales or a charge of money counterfeiting. It's a typical arrest someone on a holding charge. Wmmm. It's an evidence of Japanese police working fine. So I'm not too worried.
Another reason making me calm is the number of members coming out of the building to resist against police was fewer than last year. It indicates that the organization has been weakened due to probable members withdrawal from this agency. It is now famous for members infilterating into Japanese self-difense force, police, or technology companies to absorb scientific technology. Yet people are well alerted these days.
However, I'm not fully satisfied. What makes me uncomfortable the most is the reaction the mass media show. NHK briefly reported this news with a scene of just the police entering the building although there was an interesting, big struggle.
NTV is worse. After reporting this, a news conference to media by North Korea Agency pops up, and he accused of the police. Well, as usual, TVs always favor Koreans. The case of TV asahi was very hilarious. A commentator gave a comment, after the report, defending North Korea, "These days, people in Korea are very conscious of their healthy, so it's inevitable for them to need more medicine as the consciousness spreads." Very funny! Aside from this obvious LIE, they ought to stop attempting false declaration when through customs.

Ok, I don't get it. This raid took place in Japan? There is a place called "North Korean Science Agency" operating in Japan?
Regardless, it makes sense that the Japanese government (and thus media) would be putting a pleasant spin on the helpless citizens of DPRK, right? When Japan invades, it will make integration easier. Hehe. The Imperial Army needs all the soldiers it can get for the war with Sino-Japanese war of 2013.
please don't take me seriously.
Yes, that's in Japan. I added a paragraph, in this article, for detailed information including their history.
I don't need flattering or greeting, so just write what you want. Sino-Japanese war of 2013 is not funny though. I don't wanna die while China has inexhaustible human resource.
Japan never wants to invade Korea again. We are fed up with their complaints. Why don't they just become independent this time?
If Korean favors Japan in 2013, since they have inferior complex against china, they'll kill Chinese in nasty ways, not obeying the army regulations. Eventually Chinese sue Japan for the deed Korean did in the war.
We learned something in WWII.
Why do the Japanese police allow themselves to be disrespected by those pro-North Koreans? The other post you mentioned showed them glaring at one cop while touching his cap.
shura,
Welcome to my blog.
It is because touching police's hat or looking sharply at them is not illegal. Well acquainted with Japanese laws, the agency group is doing a threat just within the bounds of law. What the police can do is just having sour face.
If they had hit or touched the police, they would have been arrested at once.
Another thing if the Japanese know that the Chongryun and other groups regularly send money and contraband to North Korea, why won't they do something about the pachinko industry that 1/3 is run by the pro-North Koreans in Japan? Are they afraid of backlash or something, or is because there are political and criminal factors? I do know that the yakuza are heavily involved in pachinko as well. The Japanese should stop playing pachinko if they don't want their yen going to a trigger-happy dictatorship.
Emm, very good watcher you are. You must be related to Korea, aren't you?
The reason that Japan can't make Pachinko industry extinct is just because Japanese are idiots. Young men stuck with the pachinko machines are the worst kind of human being. It's just waste of time per se. Politicians and police have lots of collusion with pachinko industry, so it's not easy. As a recent trend, however, a regulation was finally enacted on the machines so they don't arouse the passion for gambling too much. People used to win over $1000 a day. In other hand, they can lose this much in a day. But the amount of winning is reduced day by day. The authorities seem to think this gamble should be just a game for about $50 win a day as it used to be.
In the meantime South Korea seems to have become a big gamble country. Making fun of Japan may be a little bit soon for them.
Interested in your comments about the pachinko industry. So, 2 years on, do you think the legislation has made a difference to the amount of time and money spent in pachinko parlors? Surely it's up to those individuals (who you strangely name 'the worst kind of human being' - believe me, I can think of many many worse types of human being than that) whether they want to play.
The clamp down should be on those who run the places and what they choose to do with the proceeds.
